CELEBRATING FATHERHOOD IN CHRIST
Pithruvedi is an organization that welcomes all married men from
families in the Parish to become members. The association is dedicated
to St. Joseph, the Patron saint, who serves as a role model for
husbands and fathers through his complete surrender to God's will,
diligent protection of the holy family, and exemplary self-control.
"The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their
children after them."
Proverbs 20:7
On October 18, 2009, Pithruvedi had its formal inauguration from
His Beatitude Cardinal Mar George Alencherry, the present Major
Archbishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, at the Presentation
Convent School Ground in Nerul. In this first assembly, H.E. Mar
Thomas Elavanal promulgated the Pithruvedi By-Laws.
The primary objective of this association is to bring the members
of the parish community together in their shared religious beliefs
by nurturing them with spiritual principles and teachings. Pithruvedi
endeavors to instill the significance of selflessness, prioritizing
family values, and leading the family in a life centered around
prayer and worship.
The members of Pithruvedi solely host the feast of St. Joseph,
the patron saint of the parish, which includes liturgy, choir,
and Ottunercha, in addition to actively participating and carrying
out each of their respective tasks throughout every parish feast
and programme. Additionally, Pithruvedi takes part in diocesan
events like tug-of-war contests and badminton competitions.
